The North Shore and District Volunteer Fire Department Annual Lobster Supper. Lobster supper June 5, Take out starts at 4:00pm. and eat in at 5:00pm. 2 lobster@ $20, 1 lobster @$12 and a chicken dinner for $10.

A Milling Frolic will be held at the Gaelic Singers Hall on Sunday June 13 from 1:00- 5:00. There will be an actual milling of a (raw? Virgin? ) blanket - fleece spun and woven by a group of Cape Breton spinners who will be there with their wheels and looms to participate.  A real milling will attract Gaelic singers from all over. We realize it is not traditional to have it on Sunday but it's the only day all the spinners could come.

 

The Gaelic College will be hosting two weekends for Painters. The first Paint Out, is June 11,12 & 13. This weekend is with no instruction, a time to socialize with fellow artists and a to share a painting experience in

There will be  a workshop for discovering your life's purpose June 18th-20th. Cabot Trail Writers Festival is pleased to present a new Satellite Event, Saturday 12 June, 2:00 - 3:30 pm,
North River Community Hall, an afternoon with Dr Robert J Morgan, author of the Rise Again! books of Cape Breton history. Dr Morgan will read from his books, and talk about his life as a researcher, historian, and professor at Fortress Louisbourg and CBU. He'll be happy to sign your copies of his books; with a little luck, we'll have some copies for sale, as well. Tea and oatcakes on offer. As part of the annual Englishtown Mussel Festival the Baddeck Quilt Guild will hold a fabulous  show and sale Saturday June 26th 10am to 5 pm at St.Mark's Presbyterian Church in Englishtown.

 

Seafood Ceilidh to be held at the Gaelic College. Talented traditional entertainment and sampling the finest seafood throughout the evening. June 25 - 7 pm. Admission $16.00. 19 years of age and over  - Cash bar services - Entertainment provided by Buddy MacDonald & Rachel Davis

 

The Chanterelle Inn is now open nightly for dinner from 6:00-8:00.  Menu changes daily but we always serve a vegetarian, non-vegetarian and seafood option.  Reservations required:  929-2263
