The North Shore & District Volunteer
Fire Department are beginning fund raising for a Automated External
Defibrillator. Defibrillator shock must be delivered within minutes
of cardiac arrest in order for the victim to have the best chance
of survival. The survival rate declines approximately 7-10 o/o for
every minute it is delayed. In some areas of our district
there is a forty five minute or longer wait for EHS to arrive . If
you have any questions or concerns or would like to offer financial
support , please contact Nancy 929-2734, Lorraine 929-2774 or any
member of the Fire Department.
This summers Red Cross Swim Classes
are scheduled for July 28th to August 4th
daily, at the Indian Brook Swim Hole. Registration prior to
beginning.
It's spring-cleaning time!
Volunteers are needed to clean community roadsides. Please call
Lorraine at 929-2774 to get bags and help out. Also, all property
owners are asked to maintain the roadsides that border their land.
AND, enter the Dirty Picture Contest. Take a photo of the most
outstanding pile of trash on a public road and give it to Lorraine.
The best photo of garbage will win $25 and will be used to encourage
people to not throw trash on our roads.
I would like to express my sincere
gratitude to all relatives, friends and neighbors who visited me the
three times I was in the hospital and for the visits at my home.
Thanks for the lovely get well cards, phone calls and prayers. I
would also like to say thank you for all who were in touch by cards,
visits & phone calls when my sister passed away. N. D. Carmichael
